Android Software Release History and Supported Features

Android 9 release v1.2 - Apr. 2, 2020

Same CAF Tag as previous release, with the following new features, fixes, and performance improvements on top of
Release 1.1:

  • Fix for issue where camera does not work with PCIe card inserted
  • Fix for issue that prevents platform from going into full suspend mode
  • Fix for issue with camera where it does not record first few seconds
  • Added support for ST Micro V6 and V7 sensor boards. Sensors supported are – Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient Temperature, Magnetometer and Pressure sensor
  • Improvements to battery charging/fuel gauge accuracy
  • Added new Wi-Fi board data file after full calibration done.

Known Issues

  • Audio on expansion connector not supported
  • Camera CAM4 interface is not supported
  • Camera does not switch between front and back in Snapdragon Camera app when cameras are connected to CAM1 and CAM2 connectors due to limitations of Snapdragon Camera app
  • Humidity sensor on ST Micro sensor board is not supported.

Android 9 release v1.1 - Dec. 23, 2019

Same CAF Tag as previous release, with the following new features, fixes, and performance improvements on top of
Release 1.0:

  • Micro SD card is supported
  • Boot time reduced from 48 seconds to 37 seconds
  • Headset Mic recording supported
  • Mass storage supported in USB-C host mode
  • LCD brightness adjustment supported
  • LCD display timing changes for improved tolerance of OSD v2 LCD panels.

Known Issues

  • Audio on expansion connector not supported
  • Camera CAM4 interface is not supported
  • Audio is not supported over USB-C DisplayPort -> HDMI converter
  • Sensor board is not supported
  • Suspend/Resume support is partial - does not go into full low power suspend
  • With mini-PCIe card inserted, some use cases of camera video recording and video playback on the display do not work correctly
  • Front/Back flip on Snapdragon Camera application does not work, even if 2 cameras are connected.

Initial Android SW release for the Open-Q 845 µSOM.
